Update Note: The sessions which
you are all seeing on TV news right
now are only driven by Congress
itself or by the White House. These
are NOT public driven issues as
the public side of this session
is completely done at this time.
Public driven issues do have to wait
until January to resume just in
case you didn't gleen that from
my first post below. The sessions
right now are internal emergency
carryover sessions by official
memorandum of the leaders.

Veterans who are contemplating a filing
with any congressional committee for
the investigation of an issue should
really hold off at this time until
January of 2009.

I was there on the Hill this past
Friday and they are about to adjourn
the entire 2007 session to go campaign
for the presidential race. Only a skeleton
staff will be left behind in the offices
and no committee work or public hearings
will be held during the adjournment
outside of emergency issues or issues
already cued up to finalize the session.
No new issues are being accepted at this
time as they are beyond their cutoff point
right now for new matters.

Any filings going to the agencies instead,
are okay to continue through the adjournment
period, but frankly, I would even wait
until after Election Day to see what the
new Administration is going to be.
If you file now and the Republicans lose,
then your papers will just sit in a pile
until the Inauguration takes effect.

The new session usually starts in the
2nd or 3rd week of January but I'll
know more on the exact date as we
get closer to the end of December.
