Since the very public suicide of the
main suspect in the Anthrax mail case
at Capitol Hill, the mailing situation
for Congress has improved quite a bit.
Those people on the west coast should
feel okay now about sending in complaint
packages to the various authority
committees and agencies outlined in
this Catalog for Veterans Grievances.
I was able to get several shipments
through into the House with no delivery
trouble at all.

Before I start working on this
grievance compilation, it is worth
calling everybody's attention to
the fact that all mail delivery
into Congress is near a standstill.
It can take up to 3 months to
deliver any complaints that you
file by mail into the actual
committee offices that you file
for.

At the agencies, mail does go
directly through at the VA and
the Dept. of Justice, so any
discussions I make here about
filing complaints with the agencies
can go by mail okay and get
delivered in just a few days.

But when you get to the higher
level complaint process at Congress,
people on the west coast especially
will be at a clear disadvantage.

The only idea I can come up with
is for any Stakeholders group to
set up a Washington delivery system
for other Veterans to file their
complaints through.

You have to take all mail directly
into the Congressional offices
in person, and even then, they
will sometimes require it to
be opened while you are standing
there. This means regular trips
to Washington DC to bypass the
U.S. mail system for the delivery
of Veterans complaints to be
processed.

If the mail obstacle is not that
important to you, then use the
mail and just keep on cranking
out your filing papers to cover
all the issues that you want heard
by the oversight committees.
