Well here we enter a new
arena of gripes, for sure.

Both the Womens Rights
and Black Civil Rights
movements started out with
the proverbial tackle on
news media portrayal of
stereotypes in their
population groups, so it's
only befitting that we
Veterans also do the Recon
March down this road too.
It's a problem for sure,
and rarely do we Vets ever
get to talk about the
situation.

TV in general is absolutely
killing us, the viewing
consumer, with boredom and
too much of patterns over
and over again. Formula TV,
Rigged TV passed off as
"reality", and ICON reporting.
All is on it's way out
for sure, but when Oh when
will the network executives
ever get the message?

Judge Judy is NOT a reality
in any court that I know of.
More often than not at Albany
City Court, I'm lucky if I can
get a judge who can read, thank
you, let alone have a brain
that is well enough developed
to be able to quickly, smartly,
and accurately process the facts
of a case. Yeah Right - dream on!!
Just get a load of John Roberts
and Harriet Meirs nominations
for the U.S. Supreme Court and
you can catch my drift about
the truth!!!

All of the networks have been
putting out a false national
persona image of U.S. military
veterans since the beginning
of TV time on the air, and
I'd like to rally the troops
for a roll call on this
bullshit ICON reporting once
and for all.

Yes, bravado stories, troop
stories of the heart, and
the Wow! reenlistment stories
are all great and DO have
their place in network news.
I am not saying here that those
should end. We all love our
heros, and they are the
measure by which our young
are influenced as the gold
standard for sure.

B-U-T................
Where Oh where are the stories
on abused Veterans, mad Veterans,
protesting Veterans, and
just plain Veterans with a
national insight viewpoint??

Cindy Sheehan can get instant
national news coverage by
stalking and harrassing the
private property of a sitting
U.S. president, but you can
believe me for sure that if
you or I did that very same
thing, the only way we would
get equal headline time and
a national news microphone
to elaborate on our views
would only, only, only happen
as we were being forceably
halled away by police in full
handcuffs and ankle shackles
with people spitting at our
backs, and facing trumped up
and phoney criminal allegations
which aren't even true by
nut farm prosecutors who
are trying to gain fame at
our expense!! Let's get
real here.

NBC is one of those networks
who will not even review, accept,
receive, consider, or humor
the idea of a fair and balanced
portrayal of todays U.S. Veteran
as the mixed, diversely-opinioned,
and widely separated population
group that we are. Believe
me I know because a few hundred
times I have done my best to
float stories to them.

NBC does "formula" reporting
and if Veterans fall outside
the "formula" then don't waste
your time faxing and email
the Tips line at NBC. They have
a mental block on TRUTH and
want no part of it.

The formula is (and you all know
this is true) the proverbial war
hero active duty guy, coming
back to the train station or
airport, with his family happily
gathered all around with a
celebration party, hugs, and
kisses as he returns to
Hometown America to live his
life happily ever after with
prominence and distinction.
Yeah RIGHT !! Try not to laugh
too hard at the risk of dropping
your canteens.

The entire national news
viewing audience has a fake,
phoney, false, impression of
who we really are thanks to
this pile of crap "formula"
that NBC is caught up in.

HEY NBC ---- It's not the 50's
anymore --- News Flash!!!!

The rigged storylines that
are relentlessy coming out
of NBC's rigged story factory
are trite, boring, overused,
misapplied for the times, out
of touch, disconnected, and
nowhere near the truth. We
have to question why NBC
still holds onto this old
baggage while everything else
in the country, including the
U.S. Presidency, has changed
it's broadcasting face more
times in a decade than anyone
can count. How is it that the
broadcasting face of Veterans
is still stuck-on-stupid by
NBC reporters?? Inquiring
Vet-minds want to know!

Even more stunning, the nations
leading broadcast and journalism
industry continues but continues
to dole out those overused
"awards" to NBC (as if they
are actually earned) even when
the award sponsors know full
well that NBC rigs their stories
to be one-sided (in their
portrayal of Veterans for
example) to apparently
accommodate some other hidden
agenda that we can only stand
around and wonder about (DUH!).
Thanks to NBC, we now have
the proverbial "stereotype"
Veteran.

What would happen, do you
think, if for one full year
NBC received no awards at
all from standards organizations
as a show of opposition to
their story-rigging of U.S.
Veterans? Any jurist with
a brain can see in their
own families and communities
that Vet portrayals are
skewed, lied about, false,
and missing the mark as to
who we really are, what our
issues are, what our common
voice is, and what we really
see in the ways of the world
as national security insiders.

When was the last time that
you saw a Veteran from Florida
topping the lead story of the
nightly news by calling the
VFW organization a pile of
crap?? Well, well,
well -- now THERE would
be a newscast to eat popcorn
by, now wouldn't it??

NBC news needs to get off
this train of "formula"
reporting because more and
more of us are no longer
tuning in. It's all the same
in the end, once you grasp
the "formula". You can
pretty much guess out the
entire newscast in advance
after you have seen the
opening teasers. What a
bore.

CLICK!
Personally I really prefer
my Josh Groban CD's.
