Just this evening, the CNN news network
has aired an important broadcast called
Waging War Against the VA which
profiles the ordeals and odesseys
of 3 returning Iraq war Veterans and
the shenanigans they received in their
disability claims from the VA agency.

The broadcast is a stunning expose over
a 3 year period at the VA in Washington
and all the hoop-jumping that the
Veterans and their families were put
through.

Acting VA Secretary Gordon Mansfield,
himself a paraylzed war Icon from the
Vietnam War, had the flaming audacity
to try and defend the nonsense to
nowhere that VA disability claims
Raters had issued in fake and falsified
documents to the 3 families.

The text part of the report is
still posted at the website, www.CNN.com
and the video from the program should
be posted early next week so that
viewers can see the program in
playback.

One incredible moment was a document
issued to one of the Veterans suffering
from shrapnel wounds from an exploding
IED saying that his shrapnel wounds
were NOT service-connected, and
showcased for this report.

As you have seen in dated Forums
on this Vets for Justice web page,
we had already launched an Opposition
to Gordon Mansfield being confirmed
as the next VA Secretary. This
incredible and gripping broadcast
from CNN only validates and legitimizes
our position on that matter while it
was in the making.

We stand proudly by the fact that
we held strong and were successful
in getting a new VA Secretary nominee
who is a practicing medical doctor.
Clearly from this CNN report, Mansfield
is the wrong guy --- like so many
others --- to be sitting in that top
job.

When you are done viewing the video
playback version of the program,
I suspect you will see the wisdom
in our Opposition to his nomination.

Mansfield is a former VSO representative
with Paralyzed Veterans, and it puts
the issue front and center once again,
the blurred lines of distinction
between the veterans service organizations
and those pursuing self-interest jobs
inside the system for themselves.

It's lucky for Mansfield that he
was bypassed for the Secretary
position -- which saves the rest of
us an extended effort in calling
for his immediate resignation.
