I was turned down for the 2nd time, and now my lawyer tells me he will get me before a judge to review my case, and make a judgement. What will happen before the judge? Do you have to dress special? Do I bring others on my behave? How much different is this from waiting on those who look over your paperwork? How long do you have to wait after you see the judge? Just looking for any type of info anyone can provide. Thanks...

Donny, This is the time to shine! Take any and all witness's that you have. You, your lawyer, witness's, judge, reporter, labor specialist, and a Dr. for SSA will either be there or on a conferance phone. If your lawyer does not speak up for you make sure you get your points across. The judge will rely on the Dr alot so be ready to have all your medical ducks in order! If he is not a specialist in your disability ask the judge to have all his testamony thrown out! Its intimidating sitting around a table with all these people but if your lawyer is good nothing will matter with you. Let him do all the work. But like I said if you get in there and find out he's a dud like mine was be ready to speak up! It's hard to get everything in here if you need more info let me know. Dress clean act respectfull. You might hear the results within a couple months after hearing. You have two more appeals after that one. Administrative Law Judge and Supreme Court. If your gone to win it will be at this one! GOOD LUCK!

I have been before a Judge a few times at hearings. Once for SSI. What I learned was that I should have listened to people first.
The SSI hearing was very informal. I was clean cut and polite. The Judge decided in my favor.
Going to see a judge in a VA court was another story. I was right out of the woods. Long hair, beard, and the cloths of a biker/woodsman. That judge was pissed off at me the moment he saw me until we left his court room. He decided against me.
