I'm a non service connected vet and have been
using the VA for medical care for 29 years. When
I applied for SDI 6 years ago most of my medical
records were from the VAMC which were intentionally falsified resulting in Denial by
Social Security. Has anyone else had this
problem?

Thanks again Sue!
I'll look for and support email drives for
changing "rewriting" to transcript processing.
I don't know if this will help my case which
is finished. I now am on SSI after having my
SDI ripped off but if it helps anyone being
screwed in the same way it will be worth it!

REPLY TO ALL:

We are working to bring the full
elimination of "rewriting" cases
in the ruling documents. We are
pushing to have the system change
over to "transcript" processing
which would eliminate all the
"rewriting" which is also where
all of the falsification takes place.

Both Social Security and VA uses
"rewriting" in their rulings
process and that is exactly what
we are trying to end.

If the case is "rewritten" at VA,
then Social Security picks up the
same mess when they retrieve it.
So VA screws up both agencies with
one single "rewrite". That is
our understanding of this, so
be sure to support our email
drives when it comes up to
have them switch over to TRANSCRIPT
processing which would force the
Raters to only use the evidence
documents and nothing else.
No rewrites and narratives.

I hope this helps.

I was thunder53 but changed user name to chump.
My SDI was denied but they delayed my claim
and I finally got SSI which is a kind of
welfare form of SS. I have a question. I'm
supposed to "sign up" for medicaid. Can/Will
the VA claim this as their's like they do
other insurance? I'm pretty dependent on the
medicine I get there and don't know if I can
use medicaid for things the VA won't do or
I don't trust them to.

Thanks Sue:
I guess bad news is better than no news at all.
I did appriciate what the the VA did for me when
I was between jobs and needed to be cared for as
a new diabetic. In the late 70's and early 80's
I had nothing to say but good things about the
VA. Going to school on the GI bill I would urge
young folk to enlist and brag about what the
service had done for me. Back then we had good
vet service orgs and reps with athority. Now we
have nothing but each other and sites like this.
What happened to these orgs & reps? Is it just
the politics of war & peace? I'm ready to fight
for what all vets, the ones in line ahead and
behind, deserve. I'll keep on this site and do
what I can. I just hope it's enough soon enough.

Thanks again

REPLY: Much of what many of us talk
about on this FORUM page has to
do with intentional falsification of
paperwork by the VAMC or VA system
generally.

Social Security and VA are intertwined,
like it or not. The VA will skew
just in case you make a service
connected claim, and then that skewing
passes to Social Security as they
retrieve the same papers.

I have the same situation and the
bad news is, there is no "correction"
or update proceding at Social Security.
Once you have a biopsy surgery
or something like it to disprove
the original VAMC or Social Security
findings, there doesn't seem
to be any process to "reopen" the
SSDI case and overturn the original
phoney ruling.

I'm glad you documented your
story, however, as it validates
what everyone else has been
saying on this subject.
