Can anyone tell me how a judge can use VA disability and SS disability when calculating alimony?? We can't leave these figures off our financial statements, yet it is my understanding that they are not to be considered income to be redistributed.
I can't seem to find any knowledgeable attorney, nor one with the cahunas to challenge judges on these issues anywhere in GA.
Once appointed/elected, the primadonnas seem to acquire a God complex and spin the laws to their own interpretation. Interestingly, in this week's Parade magazine, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor states "A GOOD judge (as if there were such a thing!) applies the law as it IS, NOT as he/she wants it to be!" Whatever happened to our illegal/unjust illegal, justice system? I feel the American people have become so lazy and apathetic they have surrendered their rights to the government thinking they will be taken care of by same. Duh!

If you notice on our Home Page entering
into this website we have a PETITIONS
tab at the top of the page. Click
on that. It will bring you into
our on-line Petitions for you to sign.

Scroll downward and you will find
one for the Uniform Services Former
Spouses Protection Act. Click on that
and read the Petition, and sign it
if you want to.

To answer your question, the USFSPA
is not the only location where
VA disability pay is up for grabs
as "alimony" by revenging spouses.
But other efforts are already in
the works to repeal and reverse
the very concept of tapping VA
disability pay for "alimony" purposes.

These efforts have the full support
of women veterans too.
