Well it seems that the last fleeting
moment for VSO's to come into the
Veterans Disability Commission
in April as panelists and do or
say something significant enough
to mobilize broad and sweeping
change inside the VA disability, has
come and gone with a fizzle and a plume
of smoke about the size coming
from a cigarette butt.

I was totally disappointed and
nobody else in the room was
amused either. It was totally
predictable, given what I have
seen of the VSO's in the past,
but the April Commission appearance
was the bastion of squandered
opportunity.

There they all were, lined up
at the microphone table the Big 3.
This was to be their big contribution
to "representing veterans rights" ---
yeah RIGHT !!

American Legion was the most vocal
coming right out and telling the
Commission point blank, that the
VA does NOT comply with
the law and that the national
claims backlog was embarrassing
to them, but then when pressed
by Commissioners about what their
recommendations for change would
be, Geez can ya believe it ---
they asked for the VCAA Notice
Response letters to be changed.

H-U-H ????? Yup, that's
right --- that it is IT my friend
and then they were outta there.

Go Figure!! 2 Volumes of the
USCA and 2 Volumes of the CFR
occupying Veterans disability
claims law, and they couldn't
think of not one single change
to make in the system. Give
me a freakin BREAK !!
Jesus somebody just shoot me
and get it over with !!

Next up, here comes lame and
sorry DAV waddling up to the
microphone. While they acknowledged
that the VA system is broken,
they endorsed the Duty To Assist
definition "as is" but then
went on to say "that it needed
improvement". Are ya starting
to see where this is all going?

Next here comes VFW, Blowhard of
the day. His big contribution to
fixing the VA system after a lot
of self-bloating and Blah Blah Blah
was to tell the Commission that both
Comp exams and VCAA Notice Response
letters are used by the VA when it is
not necessary.

So take THAT, you big bad VA!!

I'm quite sure that the VA Boogie
Man will sleep well tonight
as he always does, knowing that
our useless and asleep at the
wheel VSO's are on the job
tanking every crucial opportunity
known to mankind whenever appearing
before official Washington with
momentous showings on behalf of
Veterans rights such as these.

Save yer money, send them home,
and leave tradition behind.
Today's VSO's cannot get the
job done and their April appearance
at the Commission is just one
more sad reminder that it's true.

We've all been taken in by these
VSO Fairies and it's time that
America's Veterans receives better
for outcry in the midst of a
full COLLAPSE of the VA agency
system than just a whimper and
a song.

Reply to MACAT:

All interested Veterans can send
an email to the Vets Commission
and state they want an alternative
representation scheme in place
to avoid using the VSO's !!

Dear Commission,

I am a Veteran and I am disgusted
with todays VSO's and will no
longer use them in my disability
claims. I insist that this
Commission design an alternative
plan for those of us who
refuse to use VSO's in the future,
one that rests upon competent
and qualified people to do
VA disability claims.

Hi Sue:
Let's not forget the $33,000 bonus the top VA exc's got for doing such a good job; maybe if they had'nt got such a good review; they would not have received it.

Am I the only one ticked off about this; there has got to be something that we can do. It's as if though; we have no say.

Just venting Sue; this is all so unreal.
