Well, just when you thought the
VFW could escape the sharp sword of my Blog crosshairs, get real because here we go !! As an accomplished photographer, one day I got the bright idea to do a few art photos and send them into the VFW Magazine just to see what the editors would say and to possibly even make me a freelance offer. The joke was on me. I received a copy of their Freelance Guidelines which is a standing "policy paper" on what VFW Magazine does and does not accept from us freelance types and the words pretty much sent my Vet-butt ballistic like a baloon losing hot air in a closed room! VFW Mazine, according to the communist editors who apparently have no fondness for free speech, only accepts those photographs which are inside the VA Hospital system [ yeah right, go ahead and try to get permissions for THAT kind of thing ]. It's not until you put that into slow motion and roll it around in your Vet-brain that you come to understand what they are saying is they only take photographs which are "flattering" to the VA Hospital system. How, of course, could any photographer lawfully lie in waiting for all eternity until that ever-important photo came along showing the VA Hospital system in a BAD context?? Well the answer is "You Can't". The message from VFW was clear, that they are locked into VA-flattery mode; that's their story and they're sticking to it!! The truth is the VFW Magazine is a propaganda factory for the VA. It is not "for" Veterans, but is instead TO Veterans or AT Veterans but in no way shape or form should ever be misinterpreted as "about" Veterans, or in the Veterans good interest. If that were the case, then VFW Magazine's point of emphasis would be on "truthful" pictures of any sort, or "artful" pictures depicting the mood and feelings of todays veterans about the VA system anywhere. But such is not to be at the VFW. At the VFW, it's all about the VA !!!! VFW Magazine is an indoctrination program of sorts, seemingly to program, infiltrate, and relentlessly spew forth the propaganda idea that the VA has no ills, no flaws, no issues to be protested, no dark secrets to be outted, that we Vets just toddle off the military bases with our discharges under our arms and follow the yellow brick road to Dorothy and Toto's version of VA-Kansas and live happily ever after with Auntie EM !!! VFW's system is largely taken over by the interests of student "interns" which has nothing to do at all with the prevailing interests of military Veterans from all corners of the industry including us political protesting types. And it is here that VFW joins partners with the VAMC system as a whole in it's SABOTAGE-BY-ACADEMIC- TRAINEE-PRIORITY and displaced loyalties at the expense of Veterans that the VA and VFW find common ground as partners in crime. In the VAMC Hospital system we are relentlessly handed over to the pawings of one medical "student" after another with only a single licensed medical practitioner anywhere to be found up and down the halls of such places as the Critical Care Surgical Ward and several other clinics of prime interest to Veteran patients there. And the VFW says to that "Me Too !!" Let's just sabotage our own operation with a group of untrained and unsuspecting Rug-Rats and justify our do-nothing, know-nothing operation as an "educational" experience just like the VAMC] does with it's incompetent hospital staff!!! It's hard to know for sure where the brains are in this VFW Monkey Squad because nobody there is thinking or even minding the store. At a recent appearance at the public hearings for the VA Disability Commission in Washington DC, the VFW had little to say about the SCC statutes under 38 CFR Part 3 other than to suggest that PTSD should be moved over and absorbed into a general mental illness diagnostic code profile and be done away with as a standalone class by itself. With all the other 5 minutes of Blah, Blah, Blah they did, they said a whole lot of nothing and essentially rubberstamped all that the VA has in place as I speak. Who knew that we had such a perfect system?? Surely not ME! In the past year I went out in search of a licensed attorney at various national service organization offices here in Albany, NY and I found the VFW Office sitting in a little obscure rathole in one of the VAMC hallways. An incompetent jackass by the name of James Jewell and his parrot-head secretary were sitting in there as I walked in and tried to get them to help me on my SCC case whereby my adjudication documents have been falsified through VARO since 1977. James Jewell and his predatory, bungling, untrained, unlicensed disability law practice on behalf of unsuspecting disabled veterans wanted to take my case but with the condition that HE was to choose the laws and methodoligy (legal theories etc.) by which the case would be moved through the system. "No deal" I said as I sat there holding my Judgement Obtained By Fraud supreme court case that I had carefully xeroxed from the Albany Law School which is right across the street from the VA Hospital. The truth is that the VFW is a patient-abuse preservation factory. It works through it's unlicensed, untrained, unsuspecting so-called DSO's [ whatever THAT means ] to preserve and protect the VA's system of abuse and murder through infinite and perpetual hate-crimes such as document falsification and harrassment and so on to sick and injured medical patients who are themselves with access to licensed attornies. I got up and told James Jewell to take his job and shove it. The VFW, with it's bars for drinking, and bingo nights for gambling, and other lame and useless contributions to Veterans circles that we don't really need [ or can get anywhere else by looking up and down any sidewalk in America ] while at the same time refusing, denying, rejecting, stonewalling, and perpetuating the services that Veterans really do need to move their lives ahead inside this VA crime syndicate, is the basis for tax exemption and Congressional authority to even exist. We all have to stop and think between ourselves to determine whether or not it is in our best survival interests to continue supporting this VFW jerk-around factory as they are currently operating. I say No-get rid of it and shut it down. We now have Vets For Justice and The Veterans Party to lobby for our access to licensed attornies. Go home VFW and have a nice life! James Jewell will likely be sued at some point for deprivation of services and impersonating a law practice, but until then, it behooves all Veterans everywhere to take a huge step back from VFW and get a load of who and what they really are. Combat Veterans in particular have a vested interest in moving away from VFW for the AWOL, malpracticed, useless, and dysfunctional know-nothings that they are. In many ways, us Vets are creatures of habit and often confuse a social entity to be a legitimate reason to exist as a tax exempt organization or a reason to branch out into a tavern-and-gambling franchise funded by public donations under the disguise that they actually provide licensed law services to us in VA litigation claims when really they do not. We as Veterans must learn how to break our military habits and discover the new and more convenient technology-based social doors which are now open to us in Vet groups across the country such as VetFriends.com for that all important social Vet experience and hookups for a night of unit rememberance chats. Todays modern young Veterans are schooled and counselled at every turn about the rewards of good diet, and the hazards of substance indulgences, and to that end it would seem that VFW Tavern franchises are obsoleted, misapplied, counterproductive, illadvised, self-sabotaging, and ripe for phasing out of business by those of us Vets who are truly looking out for raising the standard in our overall quality of life in todays Veterans Community. War recovery is NOT found at the end of a beer bottle, trust me on that one! VFW needs to take it's incompetent Monkey Squad and it's anti-free speech propaganda factory and hit the scrap heap of businesses gone by and no longer needed or wanted in todays economy, and they need to go home to their wives and find something else to do. The student "interns" who have apparently hijacked the interests of their magazine need to go back to the Dorms and find another place to sabotage with a new and unsuspecting audience who won't catch onto their subversive efforts to control and convert a free press into a student biased press. Shut it down, it's a fraud, it's a hoax, it's a trick, it's unnecessary, and we don't need it. What do YOU think?
