One of the big advantages to living
in your very own space Men is the
simple and totally obvious fact that
you only have to clean up after yourself
and not 25 other people either from
the barracks or a homeless shelter.
HELLO! This is a very GOOD thing
so if ya need just one more justification
as to why you need to set up, maintain,
and make a go of it in making your
own home someplace then this is
certainly a biggie.

I have already showed to you in
Part 1 of this series that the
Sportsman's Guide is THE ultra-shopping
place for men to buy their housewares
for home development and design.
They pick merchandise with todays
men in mind as the ultimate shopper.

Here is a LINK below to this months
choice of theirs for a showpiece
bedroom set just to give you an
idea of some of their offerings.
This little Harley Davidson beauty
will take away all the stop and
groans when you walk in the door
and it will restore your sense of
Man-Pride when you've had a hard
day fighting the VA all day and
now you are ready for a little
private and relaxation time.

You can find the full LINK to
Sportsman's Guide in the Part 1
of this chat series in this very
FORUM below. No not everything is
based on a "theme" but I just
used this as an example to get
yer attention!

For Part 2 of this chat series on
setting up your home, let's talk about
cleaning up: both kitchen and bathroom.
Men really don't like this, and News
Flash, women don't either, but we
have mastered the better way on
these problems and we are glad to
share them with our Veterans everywhere.
So listen up from the voice of
experience. ha ha ha

There are 2 "must have" items to
stockpile your home with to aid
and facilitate your home cleaning
process, and believe me Boys, you
will instantly appreciate both of
these once you start using them.

1. latex rubber gloves for your
hands

2. clorox bleach

Men are instantly put at a home
cleaning advantage because the
latex rubber gloves which are most
readily available in the stores
are mostly for womens sizes. Very
unfair. This sets up the immediate
moment of discouragement for the
men to be involved with their own
home cleaning.

Not to worry Boys, I went out on
the internet and I actually found
you a place where they have mens
sized rubber latex gloves for
cleaning. If you are a smaller
sized guy then you can possibly
wear the LARGE sized Playtex
gloves sold in the stores.
But for the Hulk sized man, this
is not even a topic for consideration.

So start with this LINK below
men, and begin outfitting your
home inventory with man sized
rubber gloves that you can
use for cleaning your bathroom
and washing your dishes.

http://www.google.com/products?sourceid=navclient&ie=UT...up&resnum=1&ct=title

I cannot say enough to you
about these gloves as they
are a turning point in home
cleaning, and it makes the
whole experience much, much,
much, and much Better! It's
no big deal to wash your
own dishes when you are wearing
these gloves. Or how about
cleaning your toilet or bathtub
shower?

Men --- trust me on this and
get the gloves and then put them
on when they arrive and you
will become an instant believer.

Washing your kitchen dishes requires
a list of a few things:

dishwashing liquid soap
expect to get this every month

comet powder detergent
for frying pans and sticky mess
dishes

dishwashing wash cloth and towels
get these at Walmart or the
dollar store. They come together
as a single set all attached
together and those are fine.

scrub sponges
one side is sponge, the other
side is pot scrubber. get these

Dish Drainer set
there is a bottom flat mat
and then a top dish holder
with a silverware cup to
hold your clean dishes for
drying

Go out and get these as you get
the money. Stop spending the money
on Lottery tickets, no it isn't
gonna happen so start buying
supplies for your house instead.
Ya need the stuff so make it
a priority.

Fill up the sink with hot water,
add a good squirt of the dish
detergent and let it fill up
about 2/3 of the way with suds.
Put your scraped off dishes
and silverware into the water.
Put your latex gloves on.
Wash the dishes. Cups and glasses,
wash around the drinking rim.
Silverware wash the handles as
well as the eating end. Plates
wash both sides. Pans use the
Comet powder cleaner to scrub
harder stains. Coffee cups sometimes
also needs a little Comet if
you start to see coffee discoloration
in the bottom of the cups.

Rinse with clean water from the
tap, and then place in the
new dish holder that you just
bought. Pile them up, and when
you are done, leave them there
and let them dry. Or if you are
in a hurry, dry them off with
the dish towel that came with
your set.

Wash the dishes with dish cloth.
Use the scrubbing sponge only
for harder stains which needs
more abrasion.

Rinse off your gloves at the
end and then remove the gloves
and leave them hanging over your
sink until you need them again.

Use a tall chair to sit on if
your feet or legs bother you
from the standing. Sit down
and wash your dishes, why not
it's YOUR home?

BATHROOMS

For cleaning your bathroom Dudes,
this too is a breeze.

You will also need Comet powder
cleanser for the bathroom too.

But also pick up Pine Sol cleaner
like what you might wash your
car with. And a good all purpose
spray cleaner too.

You may need a bucket, a mop,
a large sponge, and a toilet
brush. You can find most of these
in dollar stores or regular stores
such as WalMart.

Dude you only buy these on the
average of once a year or so
so don't try and skimp here. Ya
need the stuff so just go get
it.

In your toilet, you dump in a
2-part mix: first add a good
splash of the Pine Sol cleaner.
Then put that away and then
add another good splash of
Clorox Bleach. Yes men, it is
clorox bleach that is your
secret weapon for giving a
bathroom that totally fresh
smell when you walk in, so
embrace it as the miracle
cleaner that it really is.

Now put on your clearning gloves.
Take the toilet brush and clean
it all around and make a good
suds in the toilet water. Scrub
up under the toilet rim and down
into the drain hole. Scrub
all around for about 5 minutes
and then walk away and leave it.

If there are rust stains from the
water, add a little Comet powder
cleanser and continue scrubbing
that into place.

Use the spray cleaner to clean
the toilet seat and back part
of the toilet with paper towels
for the wipe down, while you
are still wearing your latex
gloves.

Now for the bathtub, also wear
your rubber gloves. Fill
your bucket with hot water, add a
splash of Pine Sol cleaner and
again a splash of Clorox Bleach.

Mix it all up and take it into
your bathtub setting the bucket
in the bottom of the tub. Wet the
scrub sponge and start scrubbing
the sidewalls, and the tub sides
adding a little Comet powder cleanser
as you need it.

Scrub it all down, including the
tub faucet. Dump out the soap
water in the bottom of the tub
and add a little more Comet
powder cleanser to the tub bottom.
Scrub that until it looks clean
the way you want it.

Fill the bucket with clean hot
water again and rinse out the
scrubbing sponge so that is
free from soap.

Wet up the sponge and again
rinse down the sidewalls, the
tub sides and then the tub
bottom with the clean rinsing
water.

With mopping floors, you only
use the Pine Sol cleaner and
NOT the clorox bleach unless
you happen to have ceremic
tiled floors. Just mop the floor
with suds water, empty the bucket
and fill with clean rinse water,
and do it again to take up the
soap. Let it dry and Dude, you
are DONE and now have a seriously
clean house.

This is a small price to pay, Dudes
for having your very own space
that is not invaded by 100 other
strangers who you don't know
very well. Peace, quiet, control,
relaxation, and safety is what
this buys you, Men so embrace the
cleanup for what it is. It's your
ticket to a quality of life.

[Note: clorox bleach will stain
your clothes if it splashes on
you. Wear old clothes or buy
a cheap set of sweatshirt and
sweatpants that you only wear
for house cleaning when using
clorox bleach.]
