OK, this may be off on a wild tangent, but here goes. I left the military in 2000 because I was too sick to pass my physicals anymore. In 2001 I filed a PTSD claim. I used the DAV as my POA. I was living in Cocoa Beach, Florida at the time. The VA, or the DAV, "lost" my paperwork of course and that cost me a year of my life when I really could not afford it. I was plenty angry, I lost my job, got evicted, and was getting sicker by the month. Had the VA not "lost" my original C&P claim, I would have had a buffer to fall back on, but it didnt work out that way.

So at that point I decided that if you want something done right, you do it yourself. I dove into 38 CFR, VA procedures, and most importantly reports from other veterans, and I began to notice a recurring trend. You guessed it, "lost" paperwork. So MUCH lost paperwork that I decided it was statistically impossible to "lose" that much paperwork. I called foul, and set out on the veterans forums to try to alert my fellow veterans to NEVER send original paperwork, and to send all proof in via certified return receipt or better yet, hand carry to your local VARO for an on-the-spot dated receipt. I also made a point to point the finger at the NSO's as much as the VA, the DAV screwing up my original request really lit a fire under my ass.

This finger pointing at the guilty parties drew the ire of an admin over at the yuku veterans forum, RetDavNSO or something, the forum was known by a different name at the time I think. Before I was banned, and after I had very explicitly stated the facts, this RetDavNSO openly threatened me with "You better shut up, I still have friends in the CIA, if your not careful your life is about to get really interesting" or something to that effect. At that time I blew it off because, by the rules, the CIA is not allowed to function within the US, right? Empty threats. But its quite easy to get a posters IP address if you own the forum, I assume. I had cable modem with a static IP as well, so it was double-easy to track me.

Regardless, after that time I started to notice, looking back now, mild harrassment. My boss, who was up to that point happy with my work, suddenly started to become very hostile. Previous "friends" and coworkers began to give me the cold shoulder. And the local police would somehow magically appear every time I left the VFW post and rode my bike home the 7 or so blocks. Like they had nothing better to do on a Friday or Saturday night but give me a ticket for not having a light on my mountain bike? Showing up the exact 8 minutes it took me to ride home, every weekend.

Looking back at it now, it makes sense. The NSO's, at the upper levels, are indeed running a criminal enterprise counting into the hundreds of millions a year. So many stories of corrupt NSO's redirecting veterans C&P payments to their own accounts, bribes and kickbacks from the VA, VA lawyers going to jail for destruction of evidence, and just as I originally accused, the VA was indeed shredding important paperwork. All it takes is some VA cop to call his buddy over at the FBI to add your name to the "terrorist database" and thats it, your a "terrorist". If terrorist means anyone not in perfect agreement with everything the gov't does, up to and including fraud and theft.

I am not asking for anyone elses stories, the only reply I am expecting is a "No, its not possible, you are paranoid" or "Yes, you are not alone, its how the VA silences whistleblowers". What kicked this whole thing off was the disclaimer at the front of the forum that says "THEFT of the entire contents of this site for the purpose of creating a new website under another name or to harrass and engage in predatory stalking on any of our Staff Writers is expressly prohibited and shall be prosecuted".
