Congressman Phil Hare sits on
the House Veterans Affairs Committee and is himself, a carryover employee of the Lane Evans term of office. He ran in Lane's district and is doing his best to continue Lane's legacy here in our Veterans community. He won by a slim margin at 57% in his district, but this is not uncommon for a newcomer who is trying to fill the big shoes of a resigning incumbent. We have not seen a lot of "original" Bills coming directly from Hare just yet --- the freshmen all have disadvantages in sponsoring their own Bills when showing up in their first Class at the House. But he has managed to fill a web page with Veterans Bills that he has backed and been party to or co-sponsor of, and that counts too. Activists should be able to approach Hare with carryover issues from the Lane Evans administration. He is part of the new Democrat majority and may have some leverage in this regard. http://hare.house.gov/Issues/Issue/?IssueID=3527 Sue Frasier, VEV 1970 Army Signal Corps national activist/protester staff Blogger, VFJ |
