Congresswoman Sandlin is young,
vibrant, and her voting record is all over the place on issues from every quarter. She attended the Veterans Committee meeting at the House the day the VDBC Commission came to submit their final report to Congress, and actively posted a statement then participated in the questioning of General James Terry Scott. She does not appear to be a "dedicated" champion for Veterans as we normally know it other congressionals, but for sure, her voting record both as a Sponsor and a Co-Sponsor puts her in our Hall of Salutes as she votes where her Committee is. A handful of Bills changing the operations of the VA agency as well as a pile of honorary Bills such as the one saluting the Minnesota National Guard for being the longest continuous deployed unit in Iraq all do bear her signatures. She is a Democrat from South Dakota and is also interested in Rural projects for her state as well as child and family Bills making her way. It remains to be seen just how approachable she is on new Bills for 2008 for the generalized Veterans activist workers. http://hersethsandlin.house.gov/ Sue Frasier, VEV 1970 Army Signal Corps national activist/protester staff Blogger, VFJ |
