Went to the VA in Tampa, FL after retirement to file a claim due to substantial - well documented - hearing loss as well as arthritis due to a line of duty accident - screw permanently in wrist! Received 0% and DVA rep said nothing could be done! Fast forward to today - hearing loss got a lot worse and test revealed almost no hearing left. So back to the VA for a hearing aid - little did I know. Had to 'pass' the means test which I failed - I retired as an 04 and I am working for the state. I was told a was not eligible to receive ANY care at the VA not even for a copay!!
I feel that this almost qualifies for reverse discrimination - I was an officer!! So this is what you get for 24 years active duty!!!
