Well it's been a long time
a comin, but yes, the Veterans Disability Commission has finally unveilled it's officialy planned Outline for the Final Report to Congress due out in September of this year. And somewhere between Section V and Section VI, there is a significant category called Environmental Hazards, and the Fort McClellan Veterans do absolutely HAVE an entire Chapter devoted exclusively to them alone, along with other separate companion Chapters devoted to the Blue Water Navy Veterans of Vietnam, and the Camp Lejuene on-base water contamination zonre which is also recorded by the Center For Disease Control the same way that the McClellan issue is. General Terry Scott himself told me in person at the end of my Public Comment floor speech [ which is now a part of the April transcript for that session ] that the Commission was still waiting on the arrival of other official papers from Fort McClellan, even though it was not as fast as I was personally wanting it to be, and he assured me that the McClellan matter was still very much in cue for final national processing for our designated Health Registery and Presumptive Service Connected statusing. And to that I say....... THANK YOU GENERAL SCOTT, o-o-o-o-o-h-h-r-r-r-a-a-a-a-h-h !! Sue Frasier, VEV 1970 Army Signal Corps national activist/protester staff Blogger, VFJ |

You are having trouble keeping a story straight here, and I don't have time to be a substitute brain for you. The discussion here is exclusively on Fort McClellan Alabama and nothing to do with the Navy or anything else. Consider the fact that when McClellan was closed as a federal facility in 1998, it was immediately transitioned to a STATE facility and is still open and fully staffed as a military base to this very day. So what's your point ?? I know this McClellan matter like the back of my hand and your "theory" is empty and misguided. While McClellan people for sure are sick, it is in no way rooted in AO. I and several thousands of USAF personnel who served in Thailand view this as you say "trace amounts that wouldn't make a dog sick". At the time it wasn't such a trace amount, and yes we are sick, and thank you for referring to your fellow vets as "dogs".

Thanks for your response but it is
a bit off the beaten path. This Fort McClellan matter is a legal issue and has to be narrowly pleaded out. We have done that and do not have the luxury of arguing all ills on the planet earth. This is a focused legislative effort based on rock solid information that we can prove. The "hot spots" you are talking about are trace amounts and not even enough to effect a sick dog. The Fort McClellan Contamination Zone is only a small part of the total picture. Monsanto and Dow chemical and the US Army have been involved in biochemical warfare since the end of WWII. They are (The US military industrial complex) has literally destroyed the environment throughout the entire world, including the US.
For proof, compare EPA's Super Fund Clean UP list to the BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) List, then you will see why they are closing most, if not all of the bases. They are so polluted that they are unfit for human habitation. Unfortunately, most of the American public have ADD (Atention Deficite Disorder) and these politicians know this. The news outlets are in the pockets of the military industrial complex. When a story like this of such hugh nation significance, the newsmedia overshadows the story with Pari Hilton or some other celebity and bam off we go and we literally forget about a Fort McClellan. Our government has done the American Public a great diservice because most, if not all, of the environmental problems throughout the world are cause by the military/industrial complex right here in the Good Old USA. The name of the game is profit. Pure and simple. These men could care less about the American Public, it is all about the money and human life be damned. Like Walter Reed, this too is just the tip of the iceberg, but when are we going to see the total iceberg. Not in my lifetime. In the year 2007, there are still signifcant Agent Orange and PCB "hotspots" throughout the world, which lead right back to Monsanto, Dow, the US Army at Fort Detrick, but they are only going to tell us one story at a time. They have murdered America for the money. William B. Griffith |
