NOTE: There will be an update
announcement posted on the VFJ Home Page in the next few days to add to this entry. 2 recently updated reports have come out of the Anniston Alabama region mostly talking on the Ground Zero contamination site of the former Monsanto factory where the airborne PCB disaster took place. These were taken to Washington DC on my last trip and handed out. Note that the Anniston Community Health Study was only issued to nearby civilians living in the proximity of Ground Zero and did not reach out to include the Fort McClellan Veterans. The EPA update report does include an aerial photograph of Ground Zero but the highlight of this report was the Chemistry Compound tables listed on PAGE 5. This was the last and final piece of the Fort McClellan veterans legislation puzzle that we were chasing, and the EPA very nicely handed it to us on a golden platter. While these reports largely discuss the time frames of here and now and into the future from this time forward, they are useable in all other legislative ways for Congress to finalize the Fort McClellan legislation because of the reasons that I just finished describing. Heart disease and diabetes has been linked to the Ground Zero population so you can expect those diseases, (which were already included on our diseases list submitted to Congress) to show up in the final Health Registery language when it's done at the Subcommittee on Health. LINK to the recent EPA Update Report on the Monsanto Ground Zero factory site. See PAGE 5 for the entire list of Chemistry Compounds which made up the contamination site for the entire Anniston region when released into the air: http://www.epa.gov/region4/was...nplal/annpcbfs08.pdf LINK to Anniston Health Study Results on Civilians Only and Not Including the Fort McClellan Veterans http://www.jsu.edu/dept/nursing/PCB/findings.htm Sue Frasier, VEV 1970 Army Signal Corps national activist/protester staff Blogger, VFJ |
