I predict that over the next few days
as I get more posts loaded into this Forum page, it will become apparent to the whole world watching just how very, very, very and very unqualified, incompetent, malpracticed, lazy, and imbecile the VA agency and Dept. of Defense really are, and how this is all capped off into a perfect bungling stew of assholes aided and facilitated by the VSO's. The most important thing that could have happened in the work in developing the Fort McClellan Veterans legislation has already happened, and that was my personal trip to the area so I could knee this story in the crotch and see what comes screaming out. The contamination zone both in and all around Fort McClellan, Alabama up until the year 1998, was far more widespread, far more intense, far more hazardous, and far more neglected and ignored than what any of us had first originally imagined. Monsanto Corp. was NOT the only hazardous story in the area. Had this contamination happened in modern day, then the entire region would be fully eligible for FEMA assistance as a declared national disaster area. The 4-part tier of hazard contributors, all dumping and spewing at the same time and at the same place, had all the force and effect of a nuclear reactor meltdown upon this one tiny little town. It's a miracle that any of the residents there have survived, and for those who didn't, we grieve with the town for what they truly lost. It's not a stretch to walk into local government offices or businesses, and come face to face with a worker who has lost part of his or her family to the regional contamination. To that end, both the scope of our legislation project on Capitol Hill, and the Fort McClellan Bill itself, has been revised now to be all inclusive and speaking on the 4 main hazardous contributors of the region. Under each contributor heading below, I am also giving the subheading breakdown of how the players all came together on a single basketball court of pollution and contamination that, at least for a few decades, actually rendered the area uninhabitable. Keeping in mind that relentless cleanup has now taken place, and the area is now on the upswing and struggling to recover, I am still obligated to offer up the portrayal of what has happened there during the federal years that Fort McClellan was a national Army base, and to name and describe the small details of how everything went wrong in just one place. The newest breakdown of hazardous contributors to Fort McClellan Veterans who served there is as follows: 1. Monsanto Chemical Corp. * Monsanto single handedly raised the air measured readings for the area into an officially designated EPA Lead Zone. This means that base maneuvers such as CBR and gashouse training were conducted in an airspace already hazardous and given to probable respiratory disease. This on top of permeated soil and water contamination with PCB's which exist to this very day. 2. Anniston Army Depot * The Depot is single handedly blamed for contaminating the entire town of Anniston public drinking water supply 3. Fort McClellan itself * Medium level asbestos contamination in the barracks, toxic training sites still under remediation cleanup to this day, and seeping landfills on the grounds with a particular proximity to WAC Circle. 4. Pelham Range * A nuclear or radioactive burial mound was uncovered in recent years and is still under EPA cleanup remediation to this very day. Consider the fact that the entire Anniston region sits in what is typically called down there, Tornado Alley and Hurricane Alley and ya start to see here what the implications are for those of us troops who were there. Perhaps the most mouth-dropping shocker of this whole thing is that anybody could have gone down there from a government agency at any time up until now and put together what I did for documents and the truth of the story, but nobody bothered to do that. Not the VA, not the Army, not the VSO's, not the EPA, and not the CDC. No, it was nearly 60 years old, crippled, and dirt poor ME who got it done. This is but a glaring example of how the VA agency deprives, neglects, and malpractices medical patients straight into an unnecessary early grave or to such a point of dispair that suicide almost seems attractive, while they all continue to push out their propaganda factory falsely saying how much they care about the well being of military veterans. If I have anything to say about it all, then it will be me who takes down the medical license of Dr. James Peake. Keep watching this forum page as I will continue to release out and break down all of the details on this 4-part contribution to the Zone down there. You have already seen the posted release in this Category below on the confirmation about Asbestos in the WAC and Mens Barracks buildings. There is more coming so stay tuned. The new 2009 draft for the Fort McClellan legislation has been completed and will be loaded into those functioning parts of Congress that we work with who were not effected by the elections. We have to wait for inaugurations to finish before we can approach others. Normally I have to package separate releases to the Fort McClellan Patient Group first as a practice I do before posting these to the public, and they are not able to work very fast so bear with me as I trickle out the stunning shocker of an emergency disaster story that took place unknowingly upon the troops of the 1970's and 60's at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Consider the fact that not one evacuation took place, not one hazardous sign was posted, and to the best of our knowledge, not one of the military troops like me were herded into a room and notified of what had happened around our military base. I bring to you a stunning story of human life disregarded, a FEMA leval disaster area that was virtually ignored, and an Army who only sees it's obligation to clean up and move on and may the Veterans around the country who were stationed there be dammed. REPLY TO BABIESTWO: I will reply up here as I want our readers to see your post intact. I admire your courage for speaking out and please know, your story is like a few others in our patient group out here and you are NOT alone. You have come to the right place and your post was just fine so I'll leave it with headline so everybody can see it. We are just getting new information on this now on the heels of me making a trip down there in person, so the changes will be reflected in the new posts for this up and coming year as I continue along. Also please know that birthing and infertility medical conditions are covered in the new 2009 Fort McClellan legislation I have drafted. No it is not your family history. It is your military service who has done nothing to let you in on a dirty secret. We are working to change that and bring you some closure for your family. best wishes, sue frasier army 1970 This message has been edited. I am pretty new to this site and only recently found out about the contamination at Ft. McClellan, so if I posted this in the wrong place please let me know and I'll get it moved to the right place.
I was stationed in Ft. McClellan in 1986 for 4 months for basic training and AIT. Since leaving Ft. McClellan I have been diagnosed with endometriosis, infertility, had a hysterectomy at 35, the starting of liver disease, three herniated disks in my neck, a lower back spinal fusion and anxiety issues. In addition to that I had asthma as a child but didn't have any symptoms or issues since I was 10 years old. When I left Ft. McClellan I was rediagnosed with asthma and bronchitis. I continue to have problems with this through today. I was just also diagnosed with benign hand tremors. I came across this toxin information by accident. I did a search on Ft. McClellan to see what was happening there and was shocked to see what I found. I have always asked my mother what she did when I was pregnant because I have so many issues in which I have no family history. I am so angry about this. Not only because the toxins were there, but because no one has ever told us about this. I am a veteran of the Gulf War era. I have been into the VA hospital and clinics and not one word has ever been mentioned that this could be the reason for my issues throughout the past 20 years. I am also angry that when you try to find out information about this from these agencies that the door is slammed in your face every time. I just want to thank McClellanVet for all of her hard work on this and I will keep checking this site to see what new things are happening. |
