A trip has been booked for me to attend
a company reunion at Fort McClellan,
Ala. in October of 2008. We will
be in the vicinity of the former
WAC Chapel and HQ field. I will be
on the ground for 2 full days to
pull out some research at the
archives room at Anniston Library
and to drive around and obtain
photos of key locations around
what is left of Anniston including
the contamination factory itself
at the Monsanto address.

Whatever library information that
can be converted to e-files will
be brought back and taken to
Washington in November just before
Thanksgiving.

Discussions are going on daily
with Washington as well as follow
up phone calls in finalizing this
project to facilitate the takeover
of responsibility by VA central
office. This is a new legislative
session, with war people as their
priority so we do have to be
patient and wait this process out.
They are more than aware that
we are in a holding pattern.

The actual medical patients have
organized and sent in faxes from
their homes to identify themselves
and Congress does have those.
At this time, the VA UnderSecretary
for Benefits has resigned and there
will be time delays going on until
a new one is appointed.

So everybody has to wait this
all out. Work is done on these
issues almost every day at different
locations, and the holdup is largely
sitting with the Administration itself.
