In case you haven't read it elsewhere here on
the Forum page already, let me start here
by getting the attention of all Army Veterans
who were ever stationed at Fort McClellan,
Alabama near the small towns of Anniston and
Oxford, Alabama.

From the 1930's up until 1978, the nearby
Monsanto Chemical Corporation was cranking
out non-stop, 24/7 the manufacturing product
known as PCB.

There was so much of this PCB put out by
Monsanto, that to this very day and time
the area is still considered to be a toxic
hot zone by the Environmental Protection
Agency.

I have fought tooth and nail to get the
agencies to do a nationwide notification
to all Fort McClellan veterans to advise
all of you that you had served in a PCB
zone, but they have all refused with a pile
of excuses, none of which are valid.

But to sidestep that for a minute, I can
only tell you that if you believe that
you have a match to PCB exposure illness
or disability now and today, then I
recommend that you start the medical chase
on that right now.

There is more out in the internet universe
than you can possibly read on the Monsanto
PCB zone of Anniston, Alabama. Simply
go to WWW.GOOGLE.COM and use keyword
searches such as Anniston, Monsanto, AND
PCB and so on. There are also entries of the
zone at WWW.EPA.GOV and WWW.ATSDR.CDC.GOV

There are a variety of issues and controversies
attached to the zone and it's applications
to U.S. troops who were stationed there.
Over time I will use this Forum category to
discuss some of them. Obviously the number
one issue is why the agencies are refusing
to tell the Veterans who have since returned
back to their home states.

Monsanto dumped directly into the water and
soil of the region. They also went on to
donate PCB soil from the factory grounds
which was then transported around the region
and "donated" as dirt.

But the bungling and incompetence of the EPA
and Center for Disease Control has to do
with the broken air stacks of Monsanto which
were never fixed until 1972, and for all that
duration, a black, billowing, cloud of PCB's
spewed out of the Monsanto plant filling the
regions airspace in the tropical climate of
Alabama, and agency officials could care less
about what these air stacks have now down
to all of the veterans who are still alive
from that zone.

You can match PCB illnesses and disabilities
by using Google and using double keyword
matches on your searches. If PCB exposure
does cause asthma, for instance, putting
both words in a single search string will
pull up all medical reports showing that
PCB exposure is a causation of Asthma and
so on.

The state of Alabama has worked overtime to
cover this thing up. The Alabama Department
of Health refuses to even list Anniston
as a PCB contamination zone and this pretty
much shows you how ignorant and bungling
they are. And the fact that this region
is so close to New Orleans and the bungling
which happened there, then that alone should
get your undivided attention.

All of us who were stationed at Fort McClellan
ought to be coming together now to see what
the next step can be for us.

But for the purpose of this Blog at VFJ,
I only want to make everyone aware of this
important contamination zone.
