The congressional review
and ratification process for the Veterans Disability Commission will be starting tomorrow. The schedule we have right now is as follows: October 3, 2007 --- press conference on Capitol Hill Update Note: The press release and electronic version of the report to Congress announcing the standing of the Fort McClellan Veterans can be found at their website: http://www.vetscommission.org click on the Future Meetings page from the left menu. Thanks to all who made this compelling national announcement possible and supported us through this time in our patient history. Efforts have now begun at the VA Environmental Office, the DOD, and House and Senate Committees to mobilize our transition into VA oversight and management as the newest nationally recognized chemical exposure patient group. October 10, 2007 ---- Review hearing at House Veterans Affairs Committee. Live audio coverage of this hearing will be on the Internet. Go to: http://www.house.gov and select the Veterans Committee on the top tab. On the left menu of the Home Page, click on AUDIO. Select Room 334 and turn up the volume on your computer. October 17, 2007 ---- Senate review hearings at the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. This will be a joint review of both the VDBC Commission and the Shalala Commission for Walter Reed. I will be there in person for the House and Senate hearings but not the press conference tomorrow. Fort McClellan Veterans can plug into this process via the updates I post here at Vets For Justice. Please view the Vets Commission FORUM elsewhere on this webpage for photos and such from the end of term goodbye session. I hope to have other photos from the House hearing itself this week which will be posted here at VFJ later on. This message has been edited.
