On the heels of todays stunning
recap release on the San Diego
Veterans lawsuit where the lawyers
have dramatically said that nearly
1,500 veterans have died in the
system while waiting on their disability
claims on appeal, Senator Daniel
Akaka today sent out not one, but
2 releases in a frantic scurry to
distract away from himself and all
of his ongoing bungling in chairing
VA oversight hearings which have all
turned out to be lies.

No instead, (get this), the first
hurried grab for a headline that
I received was a rushed announcement
that Dr. James Peake, VA Secretary,
had suddenly allocated $2 million
dollars in the budget to be applied
to the National PTSD Centers including
the one in White River Junction in
Vermont. Both he and Senator Bernie
Sanders sent out this joint big-ass
release as if it was their own doing,
and the entire release itself was
about the VA Secretary (Republican)
Dr. James Peake making this stunning
move in the budget. Of course all of
this was just minutes after I fired
in LINKS to the breaking CBS News
review of the San Diego Veterans lawsuit
which was breathtaking on it's own
merits.

Of course now that the lawsuit is
about to be adjudicated and is in
the final stages of closing arguments,
I suppose Dr. Peake or Senator Akaka
had to do SOMETHING to run for cover
and explain how the 1,500 Veterans
all died on Akaka's watch as he
has been chairing the Senate Veterans
Committee since the Democrat Party
majority sweep for a couple of years
now.

So here we have a Democrat and an
Independent both grandstanding on
a press release over someting that
a Republican VA Secretary actually
did. If that doesn't spell DISCONNECT
to you, then I don't know what does.

In the funding release it was finally
publicly admitted that the budgets
and the staffing for all of these
National PTSD Centers had been flatlined
or cut back since the year 1999, and
of course that timeline sits right
smack in the middle of the Republican
majority controlling the House and
Senate (Senator Larry Craig, and
Congressman Steve Buyer, former chairs).

Veterans do NOT be hoodwinked by
these faker, phoney, and hoodwinked
releases by Akaka because you have
to read these closely to know that
they are acts of desparation to
give a false appearance that they
are all somehow in control of the
VA crisis situation. They are not,
so take it from me, these are Goof-Ups
on the run now that the San Diego
trial is near a close.

On the second release, (yawn) Akaka
was touting his new Bill for VA
Employees! ---- Yup, I kid you
not. With a broken claims backlog
everywhere and Veterans still dying
in the system by the day, this
Fame-Monkey (It's All About ME!) like
the Tasmanian Devil on cartoons, is
bouncing off the walls fishing out
any legislation that he can, no matter
how inappropriate and misfired, to
grandstand on the backs of the delayed
and the denied.

New Senate Bill S. 2969 is
to fix minor "inequities" in bonuses,
overtime, and retirement for VAMC
Hospital staff and retirees. It seems
there was a huge problem for Nurse
Anesthesiologists that was causing
them to BAIL the VA system and move
on to greener pastures in the private
hospital sector, and Senator Akaka
wanted to make sure he was the guy
to be noticed in the news media
as saving and rescuing the poor,
high-paid nurses and doctors.

This Bill is all about letting
VA staff retirees return to work
at the VA if they wish to, and to
tighten up ground rules for overtime
pay and to eliminate "probation periods"
when switching from part time work
to full time work. Tell me True, Vets,
does this interest YOU even one Iota???

To this flaming minute, Senator Akaka
has done SQUAT outside of hearings and
not much else where the VA came in
and lied, and lied, and lied; to fix
the huge and mounting VA claims backlog
or the police and complaint systems
which are so desperately needed for
Veterans to file against VA Raters
who have corrupted the system.

Like you give one Royal RIP about whether
a federal civil service nurse earns
$40,000 or $45,000 at YOUR expense
while they all get paid and you all
get laid. Give me a freaking BREAK,
I say!

Senator Akaka is a Legend In His Own
Mind, and believes in his heart that
if he keeps cranking out these mindless
news releases to nowhere, that somehow
the rest of us will be Snookered in
enough to actually believe all the
CRAP he is generating.

As the San Diego trial gets closer
to Judgement Day now, it ought to
be a real popcorn-fest watching this
Fool run for cover and trying to
explain himself how he managed to
piss away an entire 2 years into
his administration, and the whole
time Veterans were dying while the
VA was lying.

Get ready to put the blame where
blame is due, everybody because
this Fame-Monkey on Prozac is just
getting started. I expect as much
to come from the Steve Buyer camp
pretty soon too.
