| Well it was all that we had hoped for and more. The marching bands were fabulous, the floats were spectacular, the veterans were as far as the eye could see, and the public was lined up on both sides of Constitution Ave. It was a moment to cry for. Cold and blistery, but full of spirit and shenanigans, they came by the thousands to be in the mother of all Anniversaries for this great Vietnam Wall. I personally rode on the women veterans float, so many of the pix I have are from that vantage point. I have to break up these photos into 9 frame groups so after looking at this Part 1, be sure to come back later on and see Parts 2 and 3 after I get them loaded. It was a time to see the Vietnam Veterans get their dues. Thanked, saluted, welcome homed, you name it --- they all got it and they got it Large. VVA out did itself on this one, and I was so very very glad to be there to see it with my own eyes. Click on the little ICON in the upper right hand corner of the first photo to convert to full screen viewing which is the best way to see these photos. |
