While in Montana, VA was monitoring me for blood sugar levels. They were high enough to be a diabetic, they said nothing. Then while in Oregon, i went to Emergency Room at Roseburg, Or. VA Hospital and was told blood sugar level now 801 ! Was taken to intensive care ward immediately. That high a level is dead or in a coma. But for the grace of God, here am I !!
Every time you go to the va for anything get a copy of the report for that visit, I have learned by getting the reports it seems like I get a little bit better care.
Hi Asel, I was going to quit commenting about anything because I did'nt think it was doing any body any good, but hearing that another veteran has gone through what I have; makes me want to keep fighting.
My Cardiologist said to me, "I can't explaine your heart condition; in my professional opinion you caught some kind of virus."
That's what he told me; then he sent me off to a spealists; I then under went a procedure; that cost me my life, and it is only by the grace of God; that I am here today.
I just wanted to share my story, but yes, the VA does make mistakes, and veterans do have to pay for it.
I wish you the best with your problem. Neglect is common with the VA. It's a shame that many of our neglegent elected officcials can't be forced to seek the same care that most vets get. There would then be change taking place.
I have been told that vets have been deliberately been murdered at the VAMC in Richmond due to complaining about the care that they weren't getting. I have had to beg for care for some very serious health problems and one was for heart problems. Cardiologist still refuse to discuss most exams with me or beat around the bush.It has been a total horror trying to get the care that I am in need of since I had the guts to try to expose this abusive and mismanaged hospital for abusing me and other vets. It's never ending retaliation and I fear having to have any surgery at the McGuire VAMC.
