The 107th congress was about to right the injustice of the retired disabled Vet's having to give up his earned retirment pay. The Democratic SEnate had agreed to accept the Republican house version of the bill.

Bush had threatened a veto and Sen Reid D-Nev had dared him to, as the then dem Senate had the votes to override. Here's where it gets sleazy.

Hastert, to keep Bush from the Veto, refused to met with the senate to accept the house (hasterts own) version. Thereby squashing the bill till after the elections. Ark and Geo then proceeded to Vote two of Veterans strongest friends out of office, giving Senate majority to the Republicans. Now we, the retired disabled Veteran, are doomed until 2004 and maybe after (as it seems we never learn)

Point beeing that these two are vipers and need be remembered in 2004. If the dem's can find a canidate who can walk a straight line, and hold a cigar without burning himself, he has my vote.
