Steve Buyer is the House
Representative for Indianna
and the former Republican
Chairman of the House Veterans
Affairs Committee. He is also
himself a Gulf War Veteran.

I had a chance to meet one
of his staff during one of
my trips to Washington, and
I was one of many national
Advocates who maintained a close
email relationship with Buyer's
crew for the entire 2006 session.

I can say that we had high
hopes for Congressman Buyer
during his 2006 legislative
session, but it was not to
be.

While the Veterans did for
sure receive record budget
increases and overall fixes
to VA budget allocations of the
past, from there on there was
not much good news for Veterans
to come out of the House
Committee under Buyer's leadership.

We sat through an entire session
of Bills by the ton which fixed
nothing and didn't solve a single
problem that Veterans suffer from
on a national scale, while we
were deluged with one empty
publicity stunt after another
of Bills which were not much
else than nonsense to nowhere,
and Bills premised on mistaken
or false information. Buyer
does not listen to organized
opposition from the Stakeholders,
and even now he doesn't seem
to quite get it that his failures
did cost him a party majority
in the House.

Obviously if a Bill has misdefined
a Vet problem, then any solution that
the Bill attempts to put forward
is totally off target and solves
nothing at all. It is all imperative
in this national Vets arena, to
absolutely accurately and concisely
know for sure and speak to the
underlying Vet problem at hand
before you draft a Bill and stick
it on our faces.

What is most notable about Steve
Buyer is even to this moment,
after all has been said and done
in the aftermath of Election Day,
Steve Buyer is stuck-on-stupid
when it comes to singing the
praises of the all incompetent
VA Secretary Jim Nicholson.

Buyer, even now, continues to
throw himself at the mercy of
Nicholson, even though it has
been widely established that
Nicholson does not have a brain
to stand on, in the glaring
aftermath of headline news
coverage exposing Nicholson as
a bumbling fool who snickered
his way through the VA Laptop
Computer Theft crisis while
sick and injured Veterans were
left on their own to scramble
and panic to protect their
credit reports and bank accounts.

Both of these Veterans do suffer
from serious and major
disconnect issues, and neither
one seems to have a valid footing
in comprehending cause-and-effect
abilities which are absolutely required
intellectually to "connect the dots"
between failures in VA policy
and how it all translates into
human torture and premature death
without benefits to Veterans.

Lost In Space is not exactly
the TV show that we want playing
into high places in Washington
at the VA and the House, but that
seems to be what we are getting
out here between the 2 men.
Buyer appears to be more interested
and somewhat obsessed with his
mututal admiration society
for bonehead Nicholson. Confused Roll Eyes

And the Nicholson Card is the
wrong one to play out here where
the benefits money and claims
corruption at the VA continues
to take center stage as one of
the lead national crisis issues
that Advocates are trying to fix.

It's the Dumb Leading The Dumber
and it is classic of the Parrot
Head Policy that Vets For Justice
loves to expose and go after, as
we do here and now.

It's rather amazing how it came
to be that Steve Buyer was even
re-elected in his home state, but
for now, he remains as the Minority
Leader at the House Veterans Affairs
Committee, and he continues his
disconnect rantings on the Republican
side of that web page.

Veterans do need to remember
that Steve Buyer was part of the
reason for the party overthrow
and revolution last November.
