For those people who like
to go directly to the source
and form their own opinions,
the official NATO website
is located at:

Knock yourself out as you
flip through the pages of
deception.

The website is a complete
storefront including the
misspelled word of
"Organization". I sat there
looking at it and my
Vet-brain was going
h-m-m-m-m-m! You might
be saying to yourselves,
"Hey Sue, what's wrong with
NATO?" Well.......

It's not until you enter
the search world of Google
and start matching on
the words of NATO and U.N.
that you start to find
out what everyone else thinks
is wrong with NATO.

The misspelled word front
and center on the NATO
website is but a symbol,
of sorts, of why we really
need to stop answering to
NATO on many different
fronts, and the national
veterans community surely
has some soul-searching to
do about whether or not
NATO is really a good thing.
I say it isn't. You'll be
hearing a lot of that from
me.

We are more than aware
with all that is wrong with
our own country as George
Bush ushers in the era of
the buffoon, the know-nothing,
the unqualified, and the
missing in action as president
level appointees. But who
among us really wants to
spread that pain around?
It's not a good thing, and
we should kill it before it
spreads, don't ya think?

Ya see..... it is also
true that England and the
rest of the international
Monkey Squad also has their
issues in avoiding the
qualified and fit for
employment in their
presidential appointments too.

So when you start klunking
around in the NATO arena
like a bull in a china shop,
with all these other know-nothing
bulls doing their own special
way of klunking, then you
can start to understand
why NATO is as ill-conceived
on the drawing board every
bit as much as the U.N. is,
and why we really do need
to reevaluate the very
principles that NATO is
rested upon.

Who in the USA wants some
fool in Europe to set the
course or lead the way
on THEIR spin of an
international security or
peacekeeping crisis? Since
NATO began, we have been
sucked into more self
defeating conflicts and
squirmishes than Bayer
has aspirin. We often do
get dereailed on Assama
this, and Zarkowee that,
but let's bring this thing
back to the beginning and
start taking a long hard
look at NATO.

I think what really, really,
really, really did it for
me at the official NATO
website, was the page
that came up on my screen
showing military troops
all smiles in a big laugh
as they face each other
with their weapons in tow,
seemingly having the time
of their lives as troops.
It almost smelled of a U.S.
recruiting poster, wouldn't
ya guess? What's wrong with
this picture, says
I??

Where is the 9-mile stare
coming off a MedEvac on
a stretcher with an arm
and a leg completely missing?
Where is the half million
plus backlog of VA disability
claims spilling out onto
the sidewalks still unanswered
and not yet stamped "PAY".

Where are the coffins with
stars and stripes and the
buglers mournful tune? And
where are the families
of 4 reduced to 3 in the
blink of an eye and never
to be the same again?

You see, NATO is like the
VA. They just don't get it.
