my thyroid scan was cancelled because I refused to be bullied into unneccessary blood test known as WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU preggo test. at 60 yrs of age and complete menopause, I don't feel I need to be subjected to this petty BS. I have the right to refuse any test and treatments and now recently found out through a friend, that I could be labled non-compliant lost my bennies. What ever happened to the rights of the VETERANS. I think these morons are here to SERVE US, not us serving them.

If you think that was stupid, try getting a card in the mail from the VA to report to have a CAT scan of my abdomen---I had not seen a VA doctor for over a year. Suddenly, I get this card in the mail for a test, that only an idiot would order. No doctors name, and no other information came with the order.

I had already had this done, by outside doctors, whom I trust.

I went to Tampa VA Women's Clinic and had to see 3 different doctors, and I kept asking for a vaginal female hormone. NOT ONE DOCTOR ORDER IT FOR ME. How many VA doctors does it take to screw in a light bulb ? I to am going on 60 years of age. I could never get proper answers to my questions, and then the last male gynecologist, tells me, "everything was fine, and I would be scheduled to come back in a one year".

Well, that was real stupid. What my doctors outside the VA did was schedule me quickly with a Gynecological Oncologist for care in Orlando.
Then I ended up seeing QUICKLY, Two other specialists. I mean really---does Tampa VA or any Central Florida VA care for older women vets? I CERTAINLY CAN SAY "NO APPROPRIATE CARE WAS GIVEN TO THIS GRANDMOTHER"---did I mention I was a Reg. Nurse and know what good care is ?

isn't tampa va the one that let a female vet bleed to death in the er waiting room area about 10 years ago?

the va got mad at my provider for sneaking arund to get me a laproscopic test, which actually showed a severe problem. they reassigned her.

a-whats?

then they act annyed when they find out i had surgery on the outside, am getting the thyroid checked on the outside.....they actually told my outside doc that they thought perhaps i had a psychiatric condition they didn't notice before...what tdoes that mean, i can misbehave badly now??

I'm surprised. I'm a patient of Dr Glenn at the Tampa VA Women's Clinic. She's usually awesome about telling me everything she has ordered and why she has ordered it.

Lately though she's had some nurse calling me to tell me what's going on. The nurse is typically one week behind in her phone calls. I plan to complain to Dr Glenn about it at my next appointment.
