I can certainly relate to Mr. Browns's
problem. I am a Navy veteran with
70% disability and couldn't believe my
former spouse could take part of what
I earned serving my country. I think
what is being done on this site is
very important.

Senitor Reid :

I am a veteran of 100% unemployability and perminant and total rating .

I have heard that you are a great help to Veterans and will do your best to help them when the occasion allows .

My circumstances are as follows :

I draw service-connected disability for the rating listed above . In a divorce my wife was awarded 1000.00 a month alimony with my compensation,a small NJ pension, and my social security calculated together as a source of income to award her this amount .

Question :

Should VA Disability Compensation be included in the divorce process calculations of equitable distribution ?

Can your office look into this carefully and if you cannot because I am not located in your district, please give me advice on a dependable person sentor, congressman, state representives or just any one that you may know that can deal with this issue and can give me good legal advice on this issue .

Thank you much Tom Brown

Senator Reid
I am honored to know that you acknowledge the plight of this nations Veterans. I am and have been particularly frustrated by the fact that the Congress and the Senate have thus far refused to sign into law the Dual Compensation for Veterans bill that some have said they promised would be passed. Congressman Filner sent me a letter indicating that they promised and then scuttled the issue while many Senators and Congressmen/women were out of town. It is especially pleasing to note that you were not one of those who chose this way of discrediting America's Veterans. If memory serves me correctly, I think that I lived in Las Vegas while you were the Governor and I am proud of the fact that you ran for the Senate and won. God bless you in your efforts to help us. I am 100% disabled and cannot work and passage of that concurrent receipt would certainly give me back some of my dignity. PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I'm sure I can speak for many who would readily agree that we need you and your kind up there fighting for us so very badly.
Sincerely
Gorden K. Warner, MSgt, USAF(Ret)
