Hello
I will be going before the board soon ,and I would like to know who can best represent me?
I have seen too much negative shit about the VA VFW and some other veterans associations.
The Florida Rep at the VA in Orlando is not much help.He seems like he doesn't give a shit.
Anyone have any advice? I realize that being a Blue Water Nam Vet is pretty crappy at this time but I want to hit em as hard as I can

Can you flesh out that question a bit? What are you filing for? What was your rate during the war? Etc, etc.

To sooth your curious mind: I was a navy destroyer man MM3 66/70 4 tours to Nam, countless days, directly on the gun line. We got so close to land ,you could almost spit on it.We anchored in Da Nang harbor and fought all along the northern coast up to Han Mat and Han Mai islands,in and around cam rahn bay etc. I'm always the lucky one . Too late or too early.
I came down with Type II Diabetes among a bunch of other shit ,around 1999. Went to the VA with a neighbor and I asked if they could help me. After filing loads of paper work , they told me "son ,you can have anything you want". Only thing was ,they never said that I could get any benefits for exposure to AO.
I found that out from a Shipmate that has the same shit I have and is getting benefits.I filed a claim in Jan of 06 and it was denied. I appealed with a nod, and in Feb 09 got the denial. I went to the Fla, V A rep filed an apeal .This guy wrote up my appeal for me .
It looked like a third grader on Ritalin wrote it ,so I hired a lawyer ,who after two weeks told me that She could not help me because I filled to early for the new findings with Cmdr Haas. So,after doing hours and hours of research online ,I found out that most of the VSO's were crap.
This is why I asked the question HERE!
So amigo, is that enough meat?
You asked for it(<:

I would make a serious attempt to lay eyes on the rating decision of your buddy thats getting benefits. Short of that, you will be stabbing in the dark. Also, for the purpose of PTSD, all you need to find are casualty reports from your DD crew or marines taken on board after being wounded or killed. If you were THAT close to the action, you should have no problem establishing a nexus.

Dude first of all do NOT give out your personal
claim information to strangers.

Secondly to answer your question, all Counties
and States have a Dept. of Veterans Agency
and they are NOT tied to the "non profit
organizations". You are much better off
going there for your claims assistance.

Look in the government phone book pages
under YOUR County and also in YOUR state
for "Veterans Service Agency" or something
like it. No they are NOT tied to the VA.

Good luck.

Hello
first of all do you know sleeping tiger?
How personal is the information that was given?
I have been online since 1995 and understand what is going on.
If I want to give you personal information on line ,that is my decision.
I see you have been on this forum for quite a while.

This is exceedingly more information that I have espoused.
I was under the impression that, we here were Veterans, and not a bunch of idiots trying to impress each other.
Thanks for the lecture, and have a nice day!

I posted something over at the torture section about harassment of VA "whistleblowers" (like me!) and the post was simply deleted. I did not get a private message from the admin, so I assume I have drawn undue suspicion upon myself for some reason unknown to me. Those that take on the gov't tend to get a little gunshy after a certain degree of persecution. Me, I dont mind a bit. If you are taking flak, you must be over the target. Its just a shame to see people simply recoil into their shells, because that IS what the enemy is trying to make us do...shut up! Oh well, live and learn.

Back to your claim. Im Army, so Navy stuff is a bit out of my league. My service connected disabilities are PTSD, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Chronic Prostatitis. I will be filing for tinnitus soon, but since I am already 100% Total and Permanent, I am more interested in getting medical treatment then anything else.

I did help a Viet Nam veteran that had peripheral neuropathy and diabetes from AO exposure. But I have never helped a Navy guy, unless you count Marines. Like I said before, your best bet is to get your hand on your buddies rating decision. It will explain, in detail, what evidence was counted towards his claim. I dont know enough about AO, but if your DD was downwind of the stuff when it was sprayed, or if you physically handled the barrels, thats a clear link. Dioxin residue should be pretty easy to detect, right? A simply blood test? I guess I better start brushing up on my AO procedures.

If you cant find a lawyer, you may want to contact Veterans For Constitutional Law up in New York state. They may have some background on this. Wish I could offer more, but as I said, its out of my league.

Best of luck. Reach me at gdm@hushmail.com if you have the need.

As far as my post, having it deleted without a private message does not reflect well on the admin or admins. Granted, there are a hoard of backstabbers out there trying to trip up those that are not part of "the system" but to assume every person that walks through the door is a snitch is ultimately self defeating. Whats worse, as I said before, the goal of our enemies is to silence us. If that can be accomplished by tyrannical muzzling of random posters, I guess they are having us do their job. Besides, its kinda creepy.

If I find anything on blue water and AO, Ill let ya know.

Thanks for the offer to go private, but I swore, a long time ago to protect my country from all enemies, foreign and domestic , and I don't recall having gone back on that oath.
You and I both know that there are groups within our government, who are working solely for their own benefit. It is up to us as veterans and citizens of OUR country to see that this mess gets corrected, one way , or the other. I prefer the peaceful route ,but I have been shot at before ,and The main point is this, I am right !!

paranoia

Paranoia is an unfounded or exaggerated distrust of others, sometimes reaching delusional proportions. Paranoid individuals constantly suspect the motives of those around them, and believe that certain individuals, or people in general, are "out to get them."

That being said, I do know that there are elements in today's government who are working totally unconstitutionally and these people are all of our enemies.
Those are facts and meanwile most people know this. They are the ones that need to be hideing.
Not we ,who have given our all to make this country free!
Quit hiden,start fighten!!

There is a noticing feature that will send
posts to your original entries via mailbox.

Most misfiled Forums are moved and relocated
to Vet to Vet so look under that Forum
for your missing titles. If you misfile your
entries, flat out, they get moved.

thanks

To the original question, check out Veterans For Constitutional Law for proper representation. Or NVO.org as well.

I am new to this site so bare with me. I will introduce myself. I have been an agent for the department of veterans affairs for over ten years at the Los Angeles Regional Office. An Agent can adjudicate a veteran disability claim.I started a non profit veteran organization called veterans of america. From 1998 until 2005, I suceeded in wining every case and cause an uprora not only in LA but Washington DC. The uprora happen because I requested the veteran to make a donation to my corp and when succefully winning the case, requested an additional donation. I believe I won over 1.5 million dollor in retoractive benefits.

All the service organizations hated me, all the RO's hated me and the DRO's hated me. Now I am not soliciting because in 2005 my accreditation was suspended for allegently receiving money for hepling veterans with their claims, however the case is currently before the COAVC and I have now completed my education for a law degree that I will receive on June 27, 2009. I will help any veteran understand how the process work but please keep in mind we are dealing with the law "that why I completed my law studies' and inorder to be sucessful you must understand the law and how it is applied.

There are only a few lawyer who really take the time to understand title 38. I can name them on one hand but I do not know if this is permissible on this site. I will give you this information on how to win any claim you have before the RO, Board, and COAVA. Before any veteran file a claim, go to your Regional Office and copy your intire claim folder including your service medal records. And I mean every document in your folder must be copied. Now that is how you start a successful outcome. Once you have your claim folder send me a response and I show you the next step.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my request.I presume that you are not familiar with the situation with the Blue Water Navy. We are Vietnam Vets that have been left out hanging in the cold, because we did not set foot on land in Nam.Doesn't matter if we got so close that we could hit the Cong with a rock. All of our requests for bennies are on hold, and more than likely will be dropped.
I don't think you will be able to help me ,because of this situation!
Thanks
Ron
