For those who have served at Fort McClellan
Alabama at downtown Anniston, in case you
didn't know it, the largest PCB contamination
zone in U.S. history occupies nearly half
the town and then some and it's right in our
former recreation district where we all took
leave and pass.

The zone was active by Monsanto Corporation
of Anniston, (now Solutia and Pharmacia), from
the 1930's until the manufacturing stopped
in 1978. The base was then closed in 1998.

As a Veteran litigant at US District Court in
Birmingham, I was naturally seeking a lawyer.
New York lawyers refused to help me and steered
me to Alabama lawyers. I have tried everything
to date, and nothing has come to my rescue.

The Alabama State Bar Association is located
in Montgomery, and they have an automated
search system that will send you on a wild
goose chase, one lawyer at a time, by the hundreds, by the thousands, by the millions,
as if you (all by yourself and disabled) have
nothing but the rest of your life to devote
to nothing by their little cyber-adventure.

The Birmingham Bar Association which is local
to the US District Court there, refused at
every turn to answer any of my emails seeking
help. I had used entire Committee lists which
are posted at the Bar's website and not
one pro bono committee lawyer would answer me.
Even more stunning, Half of the committee
email addresses were not even in service.
Many bounced back to me on delivery failures.

It's all very nice that the current residents
of Alabama are not without any lawyers at all
as the Monsanto PCB zone continues in litigation. But all Fort McClellan veterans
who have returned to their home states and
are now outside the Alabama lines, are screwed
for all eternity as our collective windows
of opportunity for class action lawsuits
dwindle and dwindle.

Send a row of Vet-Moonies to the Alabama Bar
Association when you get a chance.
