Well let's face it, there is just
no cheap way to participate in eating holidays while the VA is holding onto your disability money, now is there ?? Communities are all different around America, Vets, and you will have to ask around or follow TV runs to find out where you can go that is nearby for the holidays. City Mission's and churches often hold open house Thanksgiving meals and gatherings. When you arrive, just ask around if there are other Veterans in the building that you can hook up with and have mutual discussions on how hard it is to get by while the incompetent and selfish VA executives do it up Large in their homes while you get no checks at all. Being together is everything over the holidays, Vets, so reach out to find each other and then you will have a sitting mate at the dinner table. Instead of sending a letter to Santa, send one to the VA Secretary and ask him what planet he was born on that gave him the hamburger for a brain that he has. While all of Washington DC works around the crisis of the VA agency, the fools and dummies and who actually work there still don't get it that they have been found to be incompetent, asleep at the wheel, and a national disgrace as a medical and disability operation that no sick person in our country should have to endure. Just close your eyes and try to pretend that you are somewhere else, Vets, because this may very well be the LAST year you will ever have to rely on other destinations to spend your holiday gathering with. We are working on it around the clock to get this pile of VA Hogs up off their lazy backs. Sue Frasier, VEV 1970 Army Signal Corps national activist/protester staff Blogger, VFJ |
